I have been on the fence for weeks and would appreciate any help knowing if my olive egger Deion is a pullet or cockerel. I was told to wait until he was older. He’s 13.5 weeks now and inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks!

That wouldn’t be the end of the world! The bin said straight run...and of course as a newbie I had no idea what that meant. I will be thrilled either way. I have no confirmed roosters so that means I can try my luck again...chicken math coming into full force

I'm thinking pullet.... just a guess but I would expect more prominent comb by that age.

Since it's an olive egger specifically, it's probably been bred with a single comb breed, which is why the comb is a wee bit larger. So my guess is pullet, but you'll know for sure over the next month.

At 13.5 weeks I think it looks like a pullet too, I would expect saddle feathers to be starting to show by now if a cockerel, but I could be wrong :)
