Is it bad for ckickens to eat paint?

my chickens are eating the paint off my storage shed. Is it bad for them ? what should I do to prevent it ?

To prevent it repaint the chipping/peeling areas they are eating.

Unless the paint is very old and contains lead there is nothing wrong with digesting it. Acrylic latex is inert when dry. It will pass through unscathed.
 
My chickens are eating the paint because we repaint our front house, and the people we hired left the paint chips all over our garden. It is good to know the acrylic paint are inert. Thank you. But why do they eat the paint? Is it because there is something lacking in their diet?
