Hi so I have been wondering if you can breed a parent with an offspring? I have a turken frizzled rooster that made a frizzled turken hen. Is it okay to breed them togther?

From what I have been told through hatcheries and private breeders alike is that "chicken" genetics don't have the same "setbacks" as most other species would. Rather they do use parent flocks to breed perfect with their offspring for plumage and other desirable traits. only every so often would they introduce new genetics to keep things from getting muddled down. My old flock had original mothers and offspring and the same three roosters although the three roosters provided much diversity although the "alpha" roo wouldn't let the others get the job done but they sneek some fun time here and there. I had no ill side effects with the birds I hatched from related offspring. Best to do some more research if you're not 100% sure.Hi so I have been wondering if you can breed a parent with an offspring? I have a turken frizzled rooster that made a frizzled turken hen. Oh ok.No you shouldn't.
Not because its parent and offspring but because you shouldn't breed frizzle to frizzle. That produces some frazzles which aren't healthy.
