I have just completed my 3rd hatch and I've hatched 3 BB Red bantams and 2 of them have had splayed leg.
Could this be a problem with genetics? I've even put rubber shelf lining in the incubator and in the brooder for good traction?
I'm trying the band-aid treament right now but havent seen much improvement, the last chick ended up Dying. I just
dont know what else to do.

Genetics / bloodlines/ inbreeding can all play a part in making a chick more susceptible to it- but more commonly it is from a smooth surface and the chicks not being able to walk on it that causes splay leg. Hope the band aids work for you.
