Is there a vaccination information thread? Do any of you vaccinate your chicks?

I looked abit, but didn't really find a thread yet. I had half my guinea's die of Mareks that I got from a backyard breeder. Everything I have ever gotten from a hatchery has been done. Just wondering if I should vaccinate any future chicks, including ones I will hatch from an incubator one day (Yes, I am going to get me one), if anyone knows how expensive the vaccine is, and how to do it??

it is inexpensive, not 100% effective and should be done as day old.

YES vaccinate. If you hatch, give the vaccine within a day or two. Then quarantine the vaccinated ones (including hatchery chicks that are vaccinated) for 2-8 weeks. I'm terrified, I got for 8 weeks.

You will always have Marek's on your property, but it doesn't mean you can't have more chickens. Just vaccinate. The best price I've found is at Twincitiespoultry.

Thanks! I will likely try and go thru my vet... we live in Canada.. and you know.... they don't like shipping vaccines and stuff over the border anymore. (I am assuming you live in the States).
