Is there anything I can do for salpingitis?

One of my chickens (pretty sure it was one of my blue azures) laid a lash egg today. Is there anything I can do for it? All my chickens seem well, no acting out of the ordinary.
 
Salpingitis is very common. Most of the time we never see lash egg material. It either is laid internallly into the abdomen, or lash eggs are eaten by other chickens before they are found. In necropsies I have done at home on hens who have died, it has been common to find to find lash eggs inside their bellies. Certain bacteria can be responsible. Early treatment with antibiotics may or may not be helpful. Amoxicillin or Fish Mox is one that many can find in feed stores or online. Here is some reading about it:
