Is this chick a Phoenix? Is this French wheaten Marans a boy?

Hi, this bird was sold as a leghorn, but yeah.. those legs!
Had a look and a Phoenix seems to be the only similar colour with slate legs and single comb? Or maybe a leghorn mix? ( I know nothing about either breeds)



also this French Wheaten Marans was sold as a girl but seems black is coming? It’s 3 or 4 weeks.




And what’s going on with it’s whacky primary’s all wavy and sticking out? Also what colour is the Wyandotte at the back of brooder? It has silver on the shoulders but gold on the wings? It’s acting like a boy

I raise phoenix, and yes, it does look similar, but on my chicks the tails look longer even at a very young age. With your other chick, look down on it from above. If the flight feathers curve away from the body it is a frizzle. Sexing it by these pictures and because of its age is just a guess. A guess that could well be wrong. I'm guessing pullet.

As to colors, colors can, and often do, change a great deal until a bird achieves its adult plumage.

Frizzle is a phenotype/feather type where the feathering curls outward. The above chick is not a frizzle. The picture shows a frizzle serama.

Update... not a Phoenix went back to breeder who says they have brown leghorns and cross them with 1/4 australorps.
Looking like a boy from colour, I think he’s about 8 weeks

The Marans is looking like a girl again... yay! She’d be 9 weeks

Here is the Wyandotte, 7 weeks, no idea of sex

Interesting color on your Wyandotte. I've had both silver-laced and golden-laced. Yours looks like something in between. Pretty chick!

Yeah will be interesting... they said it was blue laced but the dark looks dark... no idea... because I love photos here’s some siblings any idea of sex? They have about a 1 week age difference

#1 is most definitely a boy.
#2.....small comb and all, but the face - screams male to me. And the feathering is suspicious.
The Wyandotte - it says male to me too, but Wyandottes are confusing. I could probably believe it was a girl.

The Wyandotte has cool feathering.
