Is it possible you have a broody that has gone into hiding to raise a clutch, she may pop back up in a couple of weeks if that is the case.

Even though an odd time of year to do it, stranger things have been known to happen

yep, early summer here

i dont think the hen has gone off to be broody, besides she's been gone too long, i'm thinking a sea eagle snapped her up
