Unless something drastic happens, these will be the last shipped eggs I place in the incubators. Or I should say I will be placing in the incubators on Sunday after a 24 hour rest after arrival. Which will put the hatch date around January the 12th.

I will be so thankful when I am back to hatching my own eggs instead of shipped eggs

Good luck @wolfwalker!

I’m doing a shipped egg hatch too, setting this afternoon after a day and a half or so of rest. That will put me to hatch on the 11th, right with you.

They’re so dark, I guess it will be mostly crossing my fingers.

These are black copper, as well as blue copper and splash copper marans. there are two dirty eggs I think I may wash...

I set my eggs Saturday, did you get yours set?

I had one cracked egg, and one I did not set. It was the lightest egg and you could see the air cell was COMPLETELY displaced going anywhere and everywhere around the egg.

ugh. I have a pretty solid suspicion that ordering shipped eggs during the holidays was ill-planned. i mean, I only need a couple pullets so anything can happen, hopefully some of the air cells were so tiny they couldn’t get shaken around that much...

I can’t see inside of any of the others until those air cells get bigger, so this will be my most hands off, hope for the best—but keep smelling the eggs—situation that I have ever hatched.

LOL. I did get them in the incubator on Friday of all things. The PO was super fast this time and I had them 4 days early according to the initial tracking. Actually had them in a day and a half of all things. The afternoon pick up driver brought them with him from the terminal and I got a call from my post lady. She can't wait for pictures or the fact I am receiving to orders of chicks in Feb. She likes to check them first to make sure they are happy and bouncing around.

So I have 18 Isbar / Silverruds blue in the incubator for a revised lockdown of Jan 6th and hatch on the 9th

Love those silverudds. I hatched only cockerels this year. :-/ on my list for the future for sure. Their eggs are gorgeous.
