Java chicken

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Javas are a good dual purpose breed but rather uncommon. I would love to see some pics of your Javas.) If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

What color Javas do you have. The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, has a special daily exhibit of hatching eggs. They are all Javas, sometimes 3 color varieties, from a local farmer. After the chicks have all hatched out they go back to the breeder and are replaced with new fertile eggs. That is always my favorite spot at the museum .

Welcome to Backyard chickens.

I agree with Michael O'Shay, it would be fun to see a picture of your flock. I hope you are enjoying them. If you have any questions, always feel free to post. If you would like to "meet" other members from KY, you can find them here:

(And Drumstick diva, I wish I could see that exhibit, sounds like fun.)
