Has anyone noticed a difference in egg production between jumbo/meat class/XL coturnix and standard coturnix? I want birds that dress out to a nice size when I butcher the males and extra females, but also want the great egg production. I had jumbos before and got an egg a day, but don't know what farm or lineage they were from. Now I have standards that lay an egg a day, but I dont find them worth butchering. I still do it, but it's a pain for so little meat.
I just ordered hatching eggs that are from the James Marie XL Meat Class and A&M XL Meat Class. Being so selected for big size, should they still lay well?
Thanks if anyone knows!
