I know they are young but I have been trying to put all the wonderful information provided on BYC to use and see if I can determine the gender of my 6 Speckled Sussex and 2 EE chicks.
I think I have it figured out to be 5 pullets and 3 roos (good gosh I hope it's not the other way around LOL).
These chicks are approximately 4 weeks old. They were all separated from each other for pics for they kind of stood at attention as everyone was calling for the missing chick :/
I tried to go by shape, feathering out, patterns and leg/shank size. The last three chicks seems to have slightly thicker shanks and bigger feet.
Pullet? I know she has a lot of white but she is the most feathered out.
