my husband would prefer a manicured lawn and gardens. my chickens feel otherwise. currently they throw the mulch out of the flower bed daily and trample his edging, and we all agree it's not as pretty as it was before chickens. we're looking for an alternative.
we almost did rocks, but he's just not excited about it, we have a lot of gardens, we already have a rock garden. I looked into rolls of rubber mulch. it's just not the same.

This family ran wire fencing under a thin layer of mulch to deter scratching. This would be ideal, the mulch look and smell he loves, less scratching and thrown mulch everywhere.
Has anyone tired this with success?
