keeping Raccoons away

I forgot to mention, we have goats next to the chicken pen, will the activity back there keep the coons from getting too close?

The coons will pay no attention to the goats as long as the goats do not harrass them.

I trap coons every night. They dont stop. I trap then shoot. I catch one almost nightly.

A young racoon was approaching my chickens this morning before we chased him off. He hadn't touched the chickens get. Ahh.

I built "Chicken Alcatraz" since losing my entire flock to raccoon's.

I don't have the patience to trap and shoot. I realize it's just nature, that is what they do, but I'd rather keep my girls safe from predators than deal with killing anything.

It's made with hardware cloth and dug down 1.5 feet with pressurized wood and hardware cloth stapled to it. It's covered on all three sides. Dimensions are about 25' d x 75' l x 15' high. There are four trees inside with several bushes and a coop.

Are raccoons afraid of goats like hawks/owls/falcons are?
