Jack blundered through the trees, not watching where he was going. Several times he tripped over a tree root and nearly fell face first into the forest floor. Suddenly the air grew quiet and still and Jack stopped, he was close. A large he-wolf paced from the bushes, his muscles rippling under his dark grey coat. "Jack" He snarled, baring his long, razor sharp teeth "Why did you come back?"

"I need to see Kate" He replied, praying that Valhalla would let him through.

"Kate doesn't want to see you" He growled.

"Perhaps not" Jack addmitted "But shouldn't we let her decide that?"

Valhalla hesitated, debating whether or not to kill Jack, or let him past. Finally, he replied "Fine, but don't expect any sympathy from her."

"I wouldn't dream of it" He murmured, following Valhalla into the trees.
