Last year my 3 year old sex linked laid a LASH egg. It was my first experience with it and really never got a clear idea of what it meant. She never laid an egg again but no other issues. She is just my granny. This summer I have had someone - not her - lay 3 more lash eggs. I am getting eggs but with the heat, production has been low. Can you explain to me more about LASH eggs? There seem to be conflicting messages. Is it an infection, is it like menopause ??? Do I put up a game camera and figure out exactly who is not laying and cull? Thank you for all your help.
My sex linked are 4 years old, the barred rocks are 3 and the ameracauna is 3. The other 14 are just starting to lay.

A lash egg is an infection in the egg reproductive organs. From my knowledge you won't get an egg from a hen that lays a lash egg. It really messes up their system and in some cases kills the hen. I would cull whoever lays a lash egg.
