Lavender orpington eggs question

Hi all, I got 2 lavender orpington hens last year and I was so excited when they started laying eggs but I got a suprise. They lay green eggs! I'm figuring that they were crossed with an olive Egger or similar. Has anyone had experience with this?

You are right - if they are laying green eggs they are not Orpingtons. They are Easter Eggers - perhaps Orpington crosses.

Just yesterday I responded to a thread about a single combed 'lavender Orpington Ameraucana' - almost sounds as if he might have come from the same source as your hens. By any chance are they bearded ?

No they aren't bearded. They look exactly like a full blooded lav orpington if you didn't see the egg color there's no way to tell they were crossed breed.

The original US type Lavender Orpingtons came from EE's.
