I have a quad of Lavender Orpingtons. I incubated several of their eggs to test fertility and I have several silver chicks and then one dark coloured chick. Is this a black Orpington? How would this happen? Is it just baby fluff and she will lighten up? Are one of the hens/ the rooster split lavender and that is where the black is popping up? I am not the best with genetics and would love any input!

Looks like a blue chick and a black chick.
Pics of the adults? Lavender to Lavender would only produce Lavender.
Maybe you have blues instead of Lavenders.

Not the best photos, but they are the chickens at the front of the second photo. I’d be awfully sad if they weren’t as that’s what I was sold! They’re lovely birds regardless.
