I leave mine open 24/7 too. I even left it open during the -17 temp with -30 wind chill night we had. My run is predator proof. Leaving the door open makes it so I don't have to open it before I leave for work in the morning. I'm always afraid I'd forget to open it and they'd be stuck inside all day without food or water.
