Hi all I have found lice on my roo. I have not had it before so I’m looking for some advice please.
My steps were to clean out entire coop and run. Burned all the bedding.
Sprayed with Poultry Protector.
Isolated roo from ladies and dust bathed him in diatomaceous earth.
Girls are still out and as of now see no signs of anything on them but they have to have it right?
Do I get elector psp and treat them or will poultry protector do the job.
When can I return roo with them?
I’m afraid this will be an ongoing issue now that I have one with them.
Thanks for any advice!

Permethrin is very good to treat lice, used once and again in 10 days to get the newly hatched lice before they breed. There is a permethrin garden dust, a ready to use horse spray, and permethrin 10 concentrate that needs to be mixed in water (1 tsp per quart) in a spray bottle. Those are at TSC and most feed stores. Elector PSP is much more expensive and is said to work well. Poultry Protector is not going to treat an outbreak.
