I've used a homemade incubator in the past, but bought a bunch of waterers & 3 used LG's early this spring. One is forced air & came with 2 turners - neither work (older model). I purchased a new turner, & while temp is steady, I find it a real pain compared to my homemade to keep humidity regulated.
One problem, I use the $8 Walmart digital temp/humidity monitor, which is difficult to set with the turner in there. Second problem is without a turner I just cut off the bottom of a 2 liter, put a sponge in it & kept the humidity where I needed it. With the turner installed it's hard to see the channels at the bottom. Thinking of going back to manual turning as everything else is easier to keep regulated.
Any suggestions, ideas? On the flip side, I was offered an old Favorite cabinet incubator made by Leahy this weekend for "free". From what I've researched on them that may be my best bet.
