Living in San Marcos, Texas with new baby chicks

This is my first time with chickens. As our kids were growing up in AZ we had dogs, cats, bunnies, and gerbils but we were never allowed to have chickens in the city. Now that I have moved to TX and have a very nice size backyard I'm able to have my chickens. I have two; one red pullet and one yellow. I have been reading info and watching videos to learn all I can as they are growing from baby chicks into hens. This site has been extremely helpful-so much info and such knowledgeable people. I'm sure I'll have questions, concerns, etc. as time goes on, but for now I just wanted to introduce myself. Anyone else out there from San Marcos or surrounding areas?
