lockdown for incubating chicken eggs

Are you supposed to lock it down on the 18th day in the morning, at the end of the day, or what?

At the same time of day as you put them in. I've been keeping track of what day and time I put them in the incubator. If you don't remember just put them in lockdown mid day, they'll be ok.

I just went into lock down yesterday morning, since I put the eggs in at 8 a.m. on what would have been 18 days from then, and I already have a chick tonight. I think the middle of the day sounds right just like BirdBeesTrees said. This is so amazing. I hope all goes well for you.

It does not matter to be so exact.
I have forgot or had a mixture of eggs set at different days, some never stopped turning and they still hatch. some were stopped a day or two early and they still hatch..
