It frustrates me that the news will jump on backyard chickens having salmonella but when there are thousands of birds being killed inhumanely they turn a blind eye

The reason the general public knows nothing about chickens is because we are so far removed from knowing where our food comes from that people don’t even know what a chicken looks like! I had a lady pull over and ask me if my Light Brahmas were chickens once.

Cases seem to be holding steady. 5 new last week, 2 in Riverside, 3 in San Bernadino.

Wow, what I'm seeing there is an epidemiological lull, as in the disease has persisted despite the measures already taken.

Things have gotten ugly.

Wouldn’t you say they are a couple of weeks behind, since those birds have to be sent to Ohio for testing?

They are? My understanding was that the birds were tested by CDFA at UC Davis, not true?
