My poor little Hetty, only just turned a year old. She became egg bound yesterday and died this morning. I tried to help her with lubrication and warm baths but it didn't help. Also I now know it is very difficult to find veterinary treatment for chickens. I rang many vet, even so called hen friendly vets but no one could help. has anyone ever lost a Hen to this? is there any way to prevent this from happening? and what are the best possible treatments if it does happen? Hetty was a gingernut Ranger (warren), are certain breeds more susceptible to the this condition than others?
