So my little Hipster (my students named him) has a hip luxation per a vet/bird specialist. We had x-rays done after a week old.
We are starting to work on our chicken run, as it used to be our duck run before we built them a larger space.
The "new" chicken run is a 6'x12' enclosed run and we would be building a coop inside for the chickens.
I'm looking for advice on how to make this area more friendly for Hipster. She (I am hoping Hipster is a hen) moves around fine, but doesn't fly up to a 2"x4" roosting bar.
Any suggestions on how to utilize the space? What would be a good coop to build inside? She has a "sister" (I hope, otherwise we will find her some sister friends. We can't have roosters here.) as well. That chicken is normal and already figured out the flying thing to get up onto a bar or the 2"x4".
Thanks!
