I have a mallard, about 5 months old,name is may. I'll be referring to him as him and he. Since I've had him I've been reading as much as possible about mallards and from what I know it seems like he is a she, but there is green tint on the head and back so it's kind of throwing me off. No curl on the tail, a little black on the beak but it seems like a he ages it decreases..

Hi @shannong139! I'm no duck expert. But, I think you have a rouen. Rouen have two eye stripes and mallards have one. Are you positive about his/her age? The first pic is 2 him at 2 months and the second pic is 4 months, finally full color and drake feather.

@emmajane07 positive of the age, but not the background. He was a rescue. The picture with more green is from when he was about 7 weeks and the other two are from the past month, so around four months old. He is bigger than other mallards at local ponds so maybe you're right!

I bet he will spoiled. Hopefully, he does well alone without a feathery mate.
