Mallard? Confused :/

ok this mallards 7 weeks old and i'm sooooooo confused on the gender!!!!! it's got green starting to show on it's head and alittle on its body... but I has the coloring of a female!!!\\

Mallards all start out the female coloring at that age. They dont get the male coloring til later on. Listen to his quack...mallards quack very loud if they are females. If it is at all raspy you got a boy, and from the green coming in, sounds like you have a boy already.

it is really funny. when my babies were growing up the voices used to remind me of 13 year old boys voices changing...the girls would have really loud honks that craked into a peep...def funny.

Mine (both sexes) kinda have a shiney head like that, it's from their oils. That it looks slightly green has nothing to do with sex. Give him/her a little more time and wait for a drake feather if you aren't sure from the "Quack test"
