2 more hatched today I am so in love with these babies 7 eggs left & tomorrow is day 18. I hope these early birds were a good sign.

Saturday is lockdown and this time next week I'll be impatiently staring at the incubator waiting for chicks

DAY 20 and two hatched this morning! One blue and one dominant white. Could be paint, but I do not see any markings yet.

I’ve only hatched two batches (last year) in a still air and they both went by day 20. Yay for your early birds!

Tomorrow is lockdown, so of course I'm up late reading everything I can to prepare for the new babies. I've hatched before but usually less than 10...it's looking like 22 are going into lockdown, and I'm so nervous. It's going to get crowded in that NR360 really quick!

Oh, I'm hatching Silverudd's Blue (from two different roosters), SilverBars (Silverudd's Blue over Cream Legbar), which are sexlink and should have pretty aqua eggs, and 2nd/3rd gen OEs. My hubby made these customizable dividers so I can keep up to 6 different egg types separated. It *may* help me not watch the incubator for hours on end!!

4 of the 11 have hatched, 2 more are well on their way. The last I was able to see, there were only 2 that hadn't pipped yet. Now, the eggs are getting kicked around a little, so I won't be able to get a good look until the hatched chicks are out of there, lol.

It has been an interesting hatch so far. The first chick out has a leg that seems to be set back a little bit and rotated in. He struggles to balance but doesn't seem to be in any pain...though that is hard to tell. Maybe with a few days walking on it will strengthen it?

There is also a chick that seems to be struggling to hatch, so I will need to keep an eye on him. I've never had to assist before, I might have to with this one...
