Hello everyone

I just ( well last Sunday night ) set my first eggs in my first incubator.. I set 42 eggs

2 bantam cochin
6 marans
6 welsummers
9 amerucauna
1 olive egger
5 black cuckoo silkies
5 white cuckoo silkies
and the rest are polish / frizzle

I've got 4 with no progress and the rest are progressing like they should be (as best I can tell via Internet pics lol ) the friend who collected the eggs for me will come over this next week and candle with me to make sure I'm not kissing anything... ive got 2 I'm leary about

Not really "veins" but what looks like just 1 vein...

See pic:
400

Looks like a blood ring.

Thanks. I will try that. I didn't want to raise the humidity because the weights were good, but I guess spraying them would counter balance that??
Also, they are in with chicken eggs so should I wait until my other incubator is available in a couple days? I don't really want to up my chicken eggs to 50 percent humidity.

Spraying eggs is more natural for waterfowl eggs due to the fact momma ducks will go swim & then lay on her clutch of eggs it will raise the humidity quite a bit at first but it will lower after an hour or so depending on the humidity in your home.Again depending on the humidity of your home & how fast the eggs will take in the water you probably will only need to spray once a day. This is my advice wether you decide to listen to me or not is up to you :) Yeah your chicken eggs would do better if moved in another incubator.

Hello,
This is my first hatch a long. I set 34 eggs on February 20th. My roosters are an EE, a Copper Maran, and a turken. Some will be pure but most will be mixes which is fine by me. I am using a farm innovators 2100. I have 2 thermometers inside because the display one it came with is 15 degrees off. My humidity is 47-50 percent. I did purchase the egg Turner as well. Good luck on your eggs! ;)

Oh & I noticed you can tell when your eggs are thirsty as well if you mist them & the humidity gets really high & low again very quickly your eggs needed that water.
