Put my eggs upright to help with the detached air cells. Found one that was gently stuck to the shelf liner and had dried, crusty stuff on the shell. Tossed it out, since it appeared to be a weepy egg. Down to 7 eggs.

I canceled all my 17 eggs, about 4 are infertile to my knowledge, about 6 I don't know because their shell is too dark to see. And the rest have veins

Day 14. Candled for the second time. Only 1 blood ring so 34 eggs going into the last week. Countdown to lockdown starting!

What Is ''lock down''? I never heard of it until now.


Incubator is hovering around 100F. I have 36 eggs saved up. Can't wait to get them in the 'bator!

The last 3 days of a hatch are lockdown. Put extra water in to boost humidity and dont open the bator until the chicks start to dry after hatching.

Ok. That's what I thought, just wasn't sure.

Checked the incubator and it was at 99.5F. Perfact!

Hi all
Joining in. Set 36 mixed Bantams this morning.

I set 22 eggs today. I am using a homemade incubator I made about 8 years ago. Constantly tweaking it, and it gets better and better. I have an industrial PID temperature controller on it that keeps it within 0.1 degree Celsius.

The eggs were shipped, and its been crazy cold here, so not sure how well the USPS kept my eggs warm or how this is going to turn out. I'll let you know in 3 weeks ha ha.
