I have a 4 month old cockerel that has a progressive neurological condition getting to the point after the last month to where he can no longer walk. I had a couple pullets die last December from Mareks, they were emancipated. This little bird is still eating and drinking well. I will have a necropsy done (soon, I’m afraid) but wonder if there is anything I could treat in case it’s not Mareks.

Sorry about your cockerel. For neurological issues, treating with Vitamin E 400 IU and some vitamin B complex (1/4-1/2 tablet daily crushed into some food or a small amount of water given orally. Are you aware that vetdna.com does a $20 blood serum test for Mareks? I haven’t had to test one, but several here have done it. I think UGA may also perform this, but here is a link:

I was not aware there was a test available for a live bird. The information is very much appreciated.
