marking hatching eggs

ok i usually mark my eggs with a pencil with the date they were laid. it doesn't effect eating them, but will it effect them hatching? i know a marker might so i use a pencil. will the pencil lead hurt them?

No as long as you are not using a pencil from around the time when they actualy used led.

It wont. Pencils today are made from graphite I think.

Sharpie Permanent Markers are safe and effective for marking 'eggs for hatching'.

Nope, it won't hurt them......pencils are great for marking hatching eggs...

I use pencils for lighter eggs but have to use sharpie for Penedesenca eggs.
