Mash - Crumble What is the difference

We have mash and my hens will eat it dry but they definitely prefer it wet. It only takes an extra minute to add water. I like that its local, and fresh. My chicks devour the mash they have, wet or dry, they could care less. The older ones are a little pickier haha And yea, its like $4-5 less per bag. And again, its local. They have their own grain fields too!

I like that about our local grain mill, too. If they can grow it, they do. Unfortunately, as much as they sell they can't grow enough product to keep their silos filled all year around. They had to truck in corn this summer (we had a drought again) and that made the price go up but when they were able to drop it back down they did.

thanks for the photo comparision of the feed. Will small chicks like starter crumble better if it's slightly wet? or is that a risk of feed going sour/bad?
