I hatched one Mille Fleur D'uccle and one Mottled Cochin (they are from a group of 8 eggs where 4 hatched; other two are a Silkie and an Oliver Egger). They are about 5.5 weeks old now. I'm pretty sure the D'uccle is a cockerel, but less sure in the Cochin (sweetest chicken EVER!). Very difficult to photograph the D'uccle, as he runs back to his flock as fast as he can and cries to get back inside the brooder. I tried to catch it from several angles. Cochin is a loving chicken that enjoys being held. Any thoughts in gender for these? Too early?

Also, will the Cochin change coloring? The Cochin is supposed to be a Mottled Cochin, but this coloring doesn't look like any photos I've found for this breed.

Thanks!

I found the example of what I was talking about. These are 5 week old silkied Cochins from @pipdzipdnreadytogo

Pullet:
1000

Cockerel:
1000

With this batch of chicks, it was extremely obvious by 7 weeks who was a pullet and who was a cockerel (besides the fact that a few of them were crowing before they were 1-2 weeks old)

Thanks @summerb123 and @ECSandCCFS ! I feared they were both cockerels. This puts me at four cockerels in a place where I am allowed zero. Yikes! I already have OEG and Blue Andalusian roos. I bought show quality breeder eggs for my son because he wanted better chickens to show than our hatchery girls ... and now find myself with a bunch of (adorable) roos! Part of me is laughing...
