Hahaahaha! I woke up at 3:00am to scratching and clawing on the coop, quietly removed the screen and eliminated a gnarly half tail old boar coon.

It's a chick miracle! One of our Icelandic babies had a goofy leg. It was splayed out to the side and he was walking funny. On closer inspection he seemed to have a tiny wound or deformity near the knee (???). Anyway, I used a bandaid to tape his legs together (which he did not care for as he repeatedly tried to peck me) and let him be. This morning I found that little Forrest Gump had broken free of his brace and is off and running! Hallelujah!
Will that be its name?
Most of my chickens are addressed with the same name "hey You stop that now"..
I have found a purpose in life for Creamettes! Now that I am not breeding anymore and they are free ranging like the other chickens, I have discovered they are eye candy! Especially the rooster, he may not be as big as Ed and Ernie but he makes up for it in looks.
Both of those are fearsome creature, have you ever seen a person after his face has been ripped off by a chipmunk?
Let's just say it is not a pretty sight.
