Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! The gf and I figured the best way to cure our hangovers was to start ripping up the carpet and work towards getting these floors sanded up and stained before hunting season this is where we have gotten so far!

We have found it very enjoying to slowly get this house fixed up in a way that we want it! "funds permitting of coarse"

When even someone like me can violate them anyone can. I do think some are overly sensitive towards the internet bullies. That person Coffee "talked" to was rude and in no way helpful to the original poster.

GTFG those floors look great. I remember when the craze was to cover all the hardwood with carpet, the only good thing it did was protect the flooring. Those will look great fixed up.

I know of all the houses we have owned, this old relic is my favorite, it is cozy for the two of us, I like it way more than any of the larger places we have owned. When I grew up in this house I was ashamed of it. now I beam with pride over the way we have fixed and remodeled it.

We do it as we can afford it also. Of Course, having all the outbuildings is a big bonus for me.

If you really want to feel inadequate in the outbuilding department visit Aussiegals, She has the best setup I have ever seen for a hobbyist. We were there today, my DW fell in love with the Alpaca's, which can only be good for me.

Got 2 reprimands and a deleted post.. Guess i can live with that.. and i will watch my opinions a little better...

That's not to bad, still around to cause trouble in the future, like Ralphie ;)

I have never read the rules.

Glad you are all good Coffee. Trolls blow. Hope they threw him out.

So I cleaned up the yard, front porch, patio and cleaned out the chicken coop while the DW had brunch with the girls and then had pedis. When she came home she talked a little with me and went inside and came out with a pair while I put things away. I mentioned that she could have helped me put things away and she got mad and shut herself in the sewing room. What am I missing here?

Hahaha

Prime example. DW decided that she wanted to go use the mower to mulch leaves. She came back after and said ' that was stupid, I don't understand what I was even doing' and was in a huff. I luckily knew to keep my mouth shut and just nod my head. Dodged that billet

Shut mouth, nod head, good answer.

Most likely she is upset with herself for not bringing you a beer before mulching. I think you should tell her it is ok and she can bring you two next weekend.

Do not be too hard on yourself or her, it took a trained specialist like myself to catch this one.

I think if everyone took Ralphie's course, everyone would be divorced! Hahaha

Doing a floor is hard, dirty work but so worth it in the end if you take your time and do it right

I am going to order 16 white orps for replacement layers from mcmurray. I think I'll order them for April.

You really have found some really nice floors. We will have to have ours really sanded to make them nice again......
Tried doing it myself once. It is one of those things that really takes someone that has done it before. We have successfully stained and poly coated them. But when you do that if your sanding isn't just right any imperfection show as a swirl.
