Missing Feathers

One of my hens has just hatched out an egg(only 1) and is now raising the chick indoors until they are introduced into the flock. Just recently I saw she was losing some feathers, all small and no big ones. Is there a reason for concern or is she just making herself a more comfortable nest?

Do you mean the broody hen is losing feathers, or the chick? If the hen, then is she losing feathers on her belly (along her keel bone) or all over? Can I see a picture?

You can't notice she's missing feathers at all! I can only tell because they're just laying around the cage.

Some broody hens will go through a mini molt. As long as she seems healthy I wouldn't be too worried.
