We didn't have mites all last summer but we just got them a couple mounths ago. What could they be from and what Is the best way ti get rid of them?

Thanks for the help.

They are very common, and are carried by wild birds. Either Sevin 5% garden dust or a pyrethrin/permethrin dust or spray (often available as "poultry dust" at the feed store, or Adams flea and tick spray) are effective. Many will tell you DE will work -- but it will not cure an infestation, it will only give some knockdown. You must treat all the birds plus the entire coop, and repeat in 10 days. This is because the treatment won't kill the eggs, which will then have hatched. Be sure you get into cracks in the coop and the underside of roosts; the liquid form of Sevin is convenient for this. Also, you may find that more than two treatments are needed.
