What ya got growing in that garden of yours? Look like I see some cucumbers?
I have beans, three sisters, peas, lettuce, carrots, onions, cucumbers, and squash. the middle trellis is for the cucumbers. The large one is for squash.

Why did you put the hay (is that what it is) down first and then dirt on top of it?

I don't understand/want to know why.

the straw killed the grass underneath so it didn't grow through. That way I didn't have to till unbroken ground.
