MY 1 1/2 year old hen stopped laying after a shelless egg

I have a hen that has always layed imperfect eggs then one day layed a shelless egg and now for over a week has stopped laying completely. She goes and sits with my other hen when she is laying but never lays one herself. Now I am noticing her doing more sitting in the backyard. The two of them usually hunt and peck all day together and then rest or take dirt baths together. Now I see the now layer frequently just sitting by herself. Any ideas on what is happening....do I need to take her to a vet?

YES! Take her to the vet, this is very abnormal for your hen. Hopefully your hen will lay eggs again

We have figured out she is molting...not sick. Her comb shrunk, she stopped laying eggs, and we are finding her feathers everywhere now. She acts fine and sits with our other hen while she lays her eggs...she's a good friend.
