I'm sorry to hear about your lung condition. It's not uncommon, especially for people who keep their birds indoors - the birds shed a lot of dust and some people are simply more sensitive to it. Hopefully getting them outside will let you care for them again! It might also be worth your time to invest in a respirator or two to avoid worsening your condition (and for your wife!)
