My boar cant reach my gilt.

My gilt is in her second heat. But my boar is struggling to get on top, she is 1-2 inches taller than him. Is there anything I can do or do I just hope he figures it out?

I can tell you what I did with my goats. I got a pallet and put a piece of plywood on top. I backed the female up to the pallet and the male stood on the pallet to do the deed. The pallet is just about the right height. Now it is a lot easier to convince a goat to stand where you want than a pig but I am sure you can figure something out. Good luck!!
