My Broody Brahma.

Hi all greetings from sunny South Africa, I really would appreciate some advice, I collected a hen 18 days ago she didn't lay for the first 2 days we had her then daily she laid some great eggs skipping one Sunday thus laid 15 eggs, she decided yesterday afternoon to start going broody sitting in her nest, I took her out and closed it up made sure she was busy all day today, she is really not impressed with me but I would like to find out your fool proof way to get your hen to stop being Broody? TIA

I use a wire dog crate to create a broody "jail". I place it up on bricks so the air flows all around and beneath it. I will put food, water, and sometimes a roost in the crate also. Usually after a couple of days in jail they're broken. Although I've had some hens I've had to lock up several times to get the point across.

Broody jail: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/broody-breaking-ala-aart.77915/ - Keep her in there at least 48 hrs or until she stops showing signs of broodiness. If she returns to the nest after being let out, then back in the crate she goes.
