My Buff Orpington keeps cracking the eggs underneath her?????

She went broody twice and both times this happened. They are in crate/laying boxes...Once I watched as another hen stole the eggs out from under her and thought that was how the eggs were cracked, but then I put cardboard in on both sides of her. She was totally protected and yet three days later- two eggs broken and her underside a mess.

Any ideas?

Calcium in the diet. Shells are solid. Hard to crack compared to store eggs.

ugh im having the same problem!! one time i opened the top of the laying boxes to check for eggs. i starteled the orpington as she was getting up and i could just hear the crack as she stood up to leave
