Hey guys, and Welcome to my thread Laura and I guess to byc too!
I also really want a horse! I have 2 goldfish,a black lab mix with pit bull dog, a calico cat, 6 chickens, and pretty much all the strays and I feed the black squirrels outside. So technically I have more than just My house pets/chickens. I care for all the wild animals also.

I'm new to this whole thing.... i had chickens once when I was like 5

I hope you can get chickens again! They're so much fun Living in Virginia you'll probably want heavier breeds that do good in the snow. Orpingtons, Plymouth rocks, Marans, Wyandottes and Brahmas are a few good choices.
