I understand the allure of new breeds.

I never expected to fall in love with the Blue Australorps and winnow my flock down so hard.

I am looking forward to winowing down. Many of my birds will not be replaced. Simply waiting for those big birds to mature: Our Brahmas, Bielefelders and Niederrhieners. wanna see which of the 20 or so breeds really lay well.

IMO, chickens have no need for curtains....it's more for the keepers need to 'decorate'.
