i got home from work today and found a sad scene.
on top of the dog coop that sits in my chicken run....were the feet, and a few guts of my 6 week old barred rock.
and my 6 week old black sexlink was nowhere to be found.
all of my other chickens seem shaken and very weary about coming out of the coop.
somethin crazy must have happened this morning.
my wife said she heard one of my red sexlinks "crying"
she went out to investigate but didnt see anything wrong at first sight.
i guess what i wanna ask is:
what would have eaten my barred rock, while sittin on top of my dog coop?and only leave the feet.
and.....i hate to ask this.....but would the rest of my chickens have finished the job if the predator had left the carcass behind???
if so im not gonna eat their eggs for a month....lol
what a crappy day.
