My hens have very thin shells

How long has this been going on?
Extremely hot weather can negatively affect eggshell quality.
The ratio of calcium to phosphorus to D3 is fairly critical for a bird to be able to build shells.
If all of your birds are laying, the best thing you can do is feed a layer feed and provide oyster shell in a separate container. Some birds that are more productive, need more calcium than others due to building more shells.

I found this article very informative when I was having problems with egg shells.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/common-egg-quality-problems.65923/

It helped me to understand the process and see where I might be going wrong. It turned out with my soft shell egg lady it was not the calcium because she was on layer with oyster shell on the side. She was being spooked into early laying.

Lots of things can affect the quality of the eggs.

Is it all the eggs from all your hens?
What are you feeding them?
Is there something that can make them nervous while laying?

Remember to look at the whole picture.
Good luck
