My quail stopped laying eggs and wont start.

Ok thanks. I started putting boiled egg in there for them. I will try the mealworms

Happy quails make eggs....if the covey is in good standing as in ratio with males and stress levels low and proper diet and lighting is provided they will lay again .just like other poultry any stress may put a dent on egg production .make your little gals happy .i noticed mine would stop laying if I took her mate and covey away even for a cleaning hahaha

Too many boys will stress your females that's why I prefer coveys of girls

What do you mean by a covey is that like ratio.

A covey as in a group /flock of quail... You don't need makes for eggs but have too many boys or insufficient hens will stress hens being mated

Hi there, new to the forum and to raising quail. I recently caught a few bobwhite quail. I have 2 males and 3 females. I'm getting an egg a day. What can I do to get them to lay more eggs.

Walnut Acres, an egg a day, or every other day per hen, is all they can produce. More hens mean more eggs. 2 males may lead to fighting among the males over the hens, unless you have the males in separate cages. Are you after babies, or selling fertile eggs? What are you trying to accomplish?

Right now I am only after the eggs. My family and I love to eat the eggs. Eventually I would love to try and hatch some but for know we are just eating the eggs.
